Therapy to Support Your Journey

At Sierra Family Therapy Center, our services are rooted in relational healing, nervous‑system awareness, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. We offer evidence‑informed, culturally responsive care designed to support meaningful, sustainable change.

  • Individual therapy offers a grounded, compassionate space to explore what brought you here and to create a life that feels more aligned, meaningful, and steady.

We clarify your goals and work together using gentle, effective, evidence‑informed approaches that activate your natural strengths and resilience.

    Common areas of focus:

    • Depression, anxiety, and stress

    • Relationship patterns and intimacy

    • Self‑esteem and boundaries

    • Grief, loss, and loneliness

    • Career or life‑direction concerns

    • Trauma healing, including EMDR

    • Childhood wounds

    • Eating‑related concerns

    • Anger and emotional expression

    • Addictive or compulsive behaviors

    • Life transitions

    • Purpose, meaning, and identity

    • Creativity, spontaneity, and joy

  • Trauma can leave the mind and body holding onto experiences long after they’ve passed. EMDR and Brainspotting are gentle, brain‑based therapies that help release what feels stuck and reconnect you with clarity, steadiness, and emotional balance.

    EMDR

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess distressing memories and integrate healthier beliefs. Many clients experience EMDR as grounding, stabilizing, and supportive of emotional regulation.

    Brainspotting

Brainspotting works with eye position to access deeper emotional and physical tension. By locating “brainspots” connected to stored experiences, this approach helps release stress in a calm, attuned, and embodied way.

Both modalities honor your pace and your story, inviting you to reconnect with the parts of yourself ready to heal and move forward.

  • Children often express emotional pain through behavior rather than words. With the right support, meaningful change is absolutely possible.

    Our child therapy integrates:

    • The Nurtured Heart Approach

    • Evidence‑based behavioral interventions

    • Child‑adapted EMDR

    • Play therapy

    • Developmentally attuned trauma‑informed care

Parents are essential partners. We offer parent coaching, parent groups, and when helpful, in‑home observation and guidance.

    Common areas of focus:

    • Confidence and self‑esteem

    • School performance

    • Emotional regulation

    • Stress and anxiety

    • Communication skills

    • Challenging behaviors

We also provide in‑home intensive counseling and behavior support for families needing more hands‑on intervention.

  • The teen years bring rapid change, big emotions, and important decisions. Therapy gives teens a grounded, non‑judgmental space to explore identity, relationships, and the challenges they face.

    We support teens with:

    • Self‑esteem and identity development

    • Peer pressure and social dynamics

    • Parent‑teen communication

    • Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm

    • Depression and emotional regulation

    • Navigating developmental changes

We collaborate with parents while maintaining your teen’s confidentiality, creating a balance of trust, safety, and therapeutic privacy.

  • Relationships are deeply meaningful — and sometimes deeply challenging. When partners feel disconnected or stuck in repeating patterns, therapy offers a path back to safety, clarity, and connection.

Our work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and IMAGO, both rooted in attachment theory. These approaches help partners understand the deeper emotions and unmet needs beneath conflict, withdrawal, or defensiveness.

We help couples move out of painful cycles and into patterns that foster trust, communication, and secure emotional connection. Couples therapy can support healing during conflict or strengthen your bond long before major issues arise.

    Pre‑marital counseling is also available.

  • Families are living systems; when one part shifts, the whole system feels it. Family therapy helps members understand their roles, patterns, and emotional responsibilities within the family unit.

    Through family‑systems work, we explore:

    • Emotional patterns across generations

    • How stress and anxiety move through the family

    • Healthier ways of relating and communicating

    • How history shapes current dynamics

This work brings insight, accountability, and lasting change for the entire family.
